OK, I was just at are local coin shop and looking through the display cases. A woman walks in and said to the owner that she has some currency from her Uncle that passed away. She had a large size $10, a WOODCHOPPER $2, and some other very nice notes. All graded F+ in my book. The owner offered her like five dollars for this one, ten for this one, 20 for this one! I was like, "oh my god." I waited outside for the woman and had her show me them. I told her the value of these notes are much more than what the guy was giving her. Like the woodchopper note was NICE. I couldn't believe I was even staring at it. She took my name, number and address. Looks like I got a pretty good deal coming along. I can't afford to give this woman the actual value of these notes. But I would be more than happy to give her $100 more than the guy at the coin shop. I just lost my job today, and this little incident made my quite happy. But the owner sure will hate me. I would have asked her when she got by her car, not just in front of the door, LOL. Oh yeah, she had a $20 gold piece, and the owner offered her $600. She had a $5 gold piece. 1/4 of an ounce of gold for $100! I can't believe this guy... Ty

Well, if she offers them to me I will be sure to buy the 1/4 gold piece and all the currency. I don't think I can afford the $20 gold piece. I still got tuition to pay for... lol

Sounds like my local dealer, I took him a group of gold items that I Knew had a weight of 3 ounces, He told me that it would cost him $ 100 an ounce to have it melted and he need to resell it as bullion and offered me HALF the value of the gold. All of which could have been sold far easier without melting. I wrote him a letter telling him that I would never sell ANYTHING to him, and My holdings are far greater than what he has in his shop. He lost a lot of potential money by pulling that stuff on me.

Sounds like something that BI Coin store here in Tacoma, WA would do. I'm just happy that we have other option's to avoid con artist like these losers, and yes Susan I agree with you there.
