I have some classic and modern commemorative proof and UNC half dollars that I want to put into my 7070 Dansco as 1 extra page. I know they make a blank half dollar page that would work but it doesn't have much room under the cons for labelling. I did see a blank 31mm page that had more spacing between the holes that would be nice to have more room for labelling the coins. I wanted to know if half dollars would fit in those holes or would they be too loose. I don't want the coins rotating and moving, but I thouht the 31mm page might be a close fit, just not sure. Thanks for the help.

Four tenths of a millimeter seems like a lot of room for wiggle, but there would be no way to know for certain until you try it. Even so, I think they would be easy to shim with a sliver of mylar.

Thanks jbuck. I thought about the shim idea, but I don't like it when I have to do that for some of my old coins in my 7070 so I would prefer to avoid that. I was hoping that since these commemorative coins would have no edge wear to them that they would come close enough and not move around...does anybody have any experience with the 31mm dansco pages? Or does anybody have a 31mm page that they could put a half dollar in it for me and tell of their results?

I didn't realize that they also make a 30mm page. So a 31mm page might a little too big for half dollars, what about putting a half dollar in a 30mm page? It definately wouldn't move around, but I don't know if they would fit in a 30mm hole.

You would have to stretch it out a little bit, using a sacrificial coin or a butter knife. I hope someone has had some experience with it.

I think I might try that. I could use an old Kennedy half and push it in to widen the holes slightly and then insert my commemorative halves. Once they are in I wouldn't be switching them around so I would think it would work fine. I would rather have that than use the 31mm where they would be loose and possibly move around.

I figure the most I am out is $7-8 for the page. I hope it works because I like the layout of the mm pages...evenly spaced and plenty of room for labelling (although they don't hold as many coins as the regular half dollar pages do).

Where are you going to order your page from?

http://www.wizardcoinsupply.com/pro...ge-30mm.html

Not sure how much shipping is, since they charge actual cost plus $1.50~$2.00 for insurance, packaging and handling. It might be worth it to get some other supplies you may need.
