I went to the coin store today to try and find a nice bust half in AU, but I came home with this one - I ve noticed a bunch of clashes, more so on the obverse. I don't think its the 50c over united variety, so WHAT IS IT? I can see unum clashed above the date as well as the reverse shield clashed on her neck... All comments welcome. Value? By the way, the clashes are hard to photograph, but they are VERY apparent in hand. Thanks!

clashing is always hard to photograph for some reason but I can tell you nothing about the clashing or how common it is but I did want to say it doesn't look AU to me but as I said I have very little knowledge on these things, fengk may be able to tell you more information on the clashing and how common or rare it actually is

I'm certain it's an Overton Variety, but I really wouldn't call it an error as many more were minted like it, Many, Many Thousands. Could you post a complete picture of both sides. I'll need that to attribute it for you :)

It appears to be an Overton (O-110) a relatively common variety (R-1) of the series.

Nice piece, even if it is a common variety, still very nice clashes.

It probably grades around an F-12, any idea of the value? I might be selling this piece in order to help buy a nice AU bust half.
