Really good before and after shots. Now you need to use something like Dellers Darkener to give it back some color.

When this coin is finally done I think its going to be a winner, its already a few shades darker after drying off.

Nice shots. I noticed you've been posting a few of these lately. Did you buy an uncleaned lot?

thanks, no these I bought in may and this is the 5th cleaning, now time to soak them for a bit and tone them up a little then put some renaissance wax on them and they are done.

I ended up taking off the patina on this coin for some extra details, and I'm soaking it in olive oil for a bit then melting some reno wax on it.

Never tried to do that... at least for me,coins are wothless without patina. But if I get some coin with damaged patina I will try your method...

I agree if the coin is a nice one with out one side or both sides completely covered in cement like encrustation I leave it alone those are the keepers, these all came from uncleaned lots.
