Hey everyone, I found this 1892-S barber half today while metal detecting. I read online that there may exist an 1892 micro S version of the barber half (similar to the 1892 micro O version). Does anyone know if that's confirmed and what it might look like? Also, what are your thoughts on the grade of the coin I found? Thanks!  |

Super find! It is solid VG-8 with claims to VG-10 on the grade. My retail price would be around the $275 area on that piece, so it certainly pays for a good part of your metal detector!

That's a pretty nice dig. I have assembled a complete set of Batber Halves, and I am not aware of a micro-S variety. Sure feels good seeing that big white disc in the hole, doesn't it? I dug 2 Barber halves in our little town. Nice shape but not semi key dates. Chance Edited by Chancellor Sutler

Pretty cool find. Most I ever found while using my radio shack detector was some gun shell casings in my back yard in a residental area.
