I'm repatriating this one from Italy. Any opinions? Does that appear to be vestiges of red in the denticles? The green isn't that troublesome. The spots are small and can be removed without damaging the coin.

That's not a bad coin to repatriate from anywhere. My Flying Eagle is not as good as that one! How on Earth did such a nice coin end up in Italy?

I'm guessing what's in the denticles is something you'll like less than "red." This one looks like a prime candidate for appropriate conservation.

You think that's just corrosion in the denticles? .. The alloy they used for these cents is pitiful. Trying to find one of these coins with good surfaces is worse than the proverbial needle in a haystack.

I think it was reasonable at 63 Euros ppd from Venice. Maybe I won't think so when it gets here, but it seems reasonable now.
