I normally just allow shipping on my ebay coin auctions to U.S. and Canada.

But as I've got some Mexican silver coins that I'll auctioning soon, it made sense for me to allow shipment to Mexico.

Can anyone offer advice?

Oh, since we all like coin pics, here are the coins.

Personally, I'd avoid shipping to Mexico. Been there, done that.

That's sorta what I was afraid of.

I'm just trying to squeeze a few more percentage points into the too small profit of selling coins. Seemed like having another source of customers would help.

What problems did you have shipping to Mexico?

I once shipped an ebay item outside of US/Canada to the Ukraine. I wouldn't say something bad happened, but I won't outside US/Canada again. The buyer emailed me after like 30 days went by and just said "Where is my item?". I simply responded and told them that I sent it priority international and XX/XX date. Never heard from them after that, no feedback was left, but the scare was enough to make me never do it again.

1st off, the government run postal system leaks packages like a sive...completly untrustworthy. With items like this, you are pretty much garunteed that it will not make it to it's destination.

2nd, if you HAVE to ship...got UPS, FedEx etc...NOT CHEAP! Then there is the extra paperwork...then the taxes for the recipient. Again, lots of cost, kill any potential extra profit.

3rd, anyone proficient enough to want these, who's Mexico, can MOST likely get them locally for less.

Overall, I'd avoid those headaches for what ever slighter higher margin could be gotten from making these available to Mexico. If someone here REALLY wants them, it's best to use a freight forwarder (friends who are traveling down).
