I get about $130 worth of coins from the bank each fortnight, is there a limit to the amount / number of coins that you can ask for?

Also, can you order a big amount (i.e. $1000 of 5c because you want to go blind!)

just wondering... I feel a large noodle coming on ;-)

I ask for $100 in coins each payday, of which $20 is 5-cents. I've never encountered any resistance, just "I'll get them straight away."
At some point, there must be a limit. If you break up your requests into digestible chunks, you might never find out what that limit is.

Different banks probably have different policies. Next time you're at the bank, ask them and see what they say.

Fioti,

My US Bank branch doesn't charge by the box. Or at least they don't charge me... It's probably up to the bank manager's discretion. I think it is dumb to charge for change anyway. That is why sometimes I just go to gas stations and buy roles.

I have found that my local banks are happy to provide them as long as they have them - that is the limit is based on their physical stock, but then I have never pushed the limits to see how far I could go. I suspect that if I tried, I could withdraw more coins that I could physically carry!

Right, time to start pushing the limit up! Done 20hrs overtime this week and will get the extra cash out in one hit and see what happens... If I don't fall asleep or forget that is. Oh and NOT in 5c pieces! Taking a break from them.

I've taken $1850 at a time. Sometimes I have pre-ordered, sometimes not. I have asked for two sacks of $1 ($1000), 2 sacks of 50c ($400), 2 x 20c ($200) and 2 x 10c ($200) and $50 of 5c.

As mentioned, it will also depend on the stock they have on hand. Haven't done it for a while though. I still have a couple of sacks of 20s, 10s and 5s to go through. I should ake an effort 'cos I haven't added to by new collection for some time. The ATO 20 cent was the last lot.

I will need to just ask at the bank. I have been a bit reluctant to do this incase they say no and then stop giving me any change whatsoever. Have looked into getting an account with another bank but when I looked they were all charging monthly charges and I refuse to pay people to keep my money!

I've never had a problem at the National Australia Bank. I'm a customer. I have a NAB credit card and that's all. Apart from going to the bank for coins, the closest I come to a NAB teller is at retail store to buy something :-)
