Hey guys I am about a year into collecting and stopped for a while. I just now started back up and want to take good photos of my coins for posting on the forums and ebay etc..What do I need to do so, I have a 8 MP camera on my phone but thats about it lol..I know I need equipment but what all do I need and what steps do I need to take. Price is a factor and I would like to not spend a ton.

Thanks guys!

one dosen't need to spend afortune on a cameara , its how you understand how to use what you have...I have seen lately some good post of coins by the camera. but they are not that food for posting or selling, or for esetimating grade values, but hey have been ok...This channel/foreum has questioned the most "el cheapo" needs to the high end of coin photography....such as it is...It really depends on ho9w you want to represent what you have......For example....really over light the coin and the needed detail is gone...the ebayer thinks they know, the missing defects in reality
when they get it. they can now see the defects.....My point here is
You can find an 8MP or 12MP for a decent price....one thing to note, these are all point and shoot camera's...$100 say to $300...either way, if you have not control over the camera, my meaning is a programable camera
your left with the camear deciding what you what...these
usually have wheel at the top of the camera.......if not, you have no control...one set up. will not be the same results the next time you turn the camera on...What is it you wish to do with the camera..?..Coins are one thing,,but there is a whole world out there, beyond just a coin...

Most camera's have a MACRO option on it, which means you can make close up pics from small items.
That would be the most important I think!
