Hi everybody I'd like to show you this consumed marcus aurelius denarius,I think it's ric 470,weight 2.75g.
Marcus Aurelius Denarius. 156-7 AD. AVRELIVS CAES ANTON AVG PII F, bare head right / TR POT XI COSII, Felicitas standing left, holding caduceus & sceptre.
However there's a thing that does not work with the reverse,in fact in this coin we usually see "TR POT" then the caduceus and then "XI".here an example

In my coin instead we see "TR POT X" then the caduceus and then "I".
I can't find a similar thing around on the web...,any opinion about this?maybe a fake?a different coinage?however the coin as a whole seems to me good.I've also seen on f.a.c. in the fakes report and there are some examples of this coin fakes,as you can see there:
http://www.forumancientcoins.com/fa...m=2&pos=2790
but it doesn't seems like my coin....

Your coin looks genuine to me. In regards to the question you have regarding the placement of the caduceus, it would seem there are other coins with the same placement. Take a look at this link. I know it is TRPOT X II, but the placement is the same as in your coin.

My guess might be that the die cutter needed the extra space reaching into the legend and it just happened to be between the X and the I.

Hi jwharper and thanks for your answer a usually.the link doesn't open however I've seen the coin on wildwind (ric475a).
the fact is that I don't find traces of similar coins with trpot XI and if someone created this type of coinage I don't think that this die has been used for only one coin....if it isn't present on ric maybe is an uncommon variant.
if you see even the fake in my link above is with trpot XII...
I'm still looking but just don't find an equal.

I see no reason to doubt its authenticity.
