I have just come across 7 rolls of wheat cents, with dates from the teens-50s.
Is there a good online list to use when checking for varieties/errors?
Or does someone have a list they can post?
Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

bpoc....that site is mine - not Coop's.

The best way to search for die varieties is to know what a normal coin is supposed to look like, and search for anything NOT normal. Don't go by a list.

Mr.Daughtrey, my humble apologies. Your site is the best for all US copper coins information. To Coop and Mr. Daughtrey (coppercoins) I have learned so much from your posts I want to thank you. I will edit my mistake.

Wow that is an almost overwhelming amount of information and varieties...I guess I need to do some reading to do before I search my rolls.
I usually collect Canadian coins, they don't seem to have the same amount of errors/varieties.
As suggested, I guess I'll just check every coin...
Thanks!

That's always the best thing to do. Just go through every coin, and pull out anything that looks too thick, doubled, smeared.

When you get finished going through them, compare the ones you pulled out to others from the same date. If they still look odd, ask about them.

Having a specific list of varieties to look for is cumbersome, difficult to keep track of, and will likely have you missing a number of still valuable die varieties that may not be on someone's "top-100" or "most popular" list. Memorizing a list of ALL known varieties is nearly impossible. I probably know more different Lincoln Cent die varieties by memory than anyone else on this planet and I can safely say that I know fewer than half of them by sight alone. I have to use a reference to identify many of them still yet - and I wrote the reference.
