Great southern coins has several 19th s=century coins with very similar "rainbow" toning which appears very artificial to me- but tey all have amny bidders:

I find it interesting that the reverse of this particular coin looks very scratched up. The toning covers it up. The toning looks a little too even in these areas. I think you're probably right in that this coin is AT.
Rest in Peace

He has a hundred or more toned coins listed, almost all toned as you said, Don, in very similar patterns. I would find it difficult to believe that all the coins came from the same type albums in the same collection to cause the same toning, but it can't be discounted. These appear to be baked, but I'm no expert on deliberately ("artificially") toned coins.

One of these coins is a 1955 Double-Die Lincoln listed as MS-63 and similarly toned. It's already way over high book value.

Ironically, I've bought from Jacob before (slabbed, not a toned coin), have exchanged emails with him and he seemed to be a fairly straight-forward seller, even ate some of the shipping cost when he miscalculated. He's got a perfect feedback score and relatively few neutrals although it appears he's had a few negs removed through mutual withdrawals. Got me wondering, however about the overall integrity of this seller...
