nds' post in BST seeking 82 and 83 p&d jeffs had me look at ebay. Check this auction out:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl..._Pr2_PcY_BID

I don't know which part leaves me most incredulous- the fact that not only is it NOT in excellent condition, it looks worn, that due to wear it is impossible to tell if it ever was full steps (sure isn't now), that someone bid $5 for it (and that s&h is $5 in addition), that the reserve hasn't been met, or that the lister put in PCGS references for FS in MS 66, 67 and 68!

That auction doesn't look too promising at all. The mint really screwed things up for not having mint sets for those years. Now these jeffs are nearly impossible to find at a reasonable price for an uncirculated specimen.

I believe that is the type II reverse which is fairly common but this coin is simply tough in unc and this coin is relatively clean and is fairly well struck. There aren't many collections of these but this would be an upgrade in most collections.

It looks like an MS-63 or 4 and you could look through a few rolls and not find a nicer one. Rolls are neither common nor cheap. Cent, nickel, and half rolls are extremely common compared to the dime and quarter rolls. And this date dime and quarter rolls are common compared to other dates of this era.
Time don't fly, it bounds and leaps.

Hi Cladking,
I am not a jeff expert and agree that the obverse looks fairly good- I would defer to (and agree with your grade on the obverse), but doesn't the reverse look mush worse? Maybe it's the pic, but I sure can't pick out the steps, and it looks like possile wear on my screen. am I off base?

Part of the problem may be the pics, which aren't that great. The seller is advertising this coin as Full Steps (FS in title) yet doesn't provide a close-up of the steps. He's got a 99.6% FB rating and "all sales are final". I wouldn't touch this auction. This looks like yet another example of someone trying to take advantage of the uneducated buyer.
