I just received a note from paypal stating that any
payments that I now receive will be held for 21 days before
being credited. In a nutshell, if any seller of any item is not consistent with his/her sell prices this policy will be in effect for them. I.E.: If one sells an item for $20.00
on one day then sells another item for $100.00 the next day or week or during a 35 day period this new policy of holding your money goes into effect. Just an F.Y.I.
I called paypal to no avail as far as an explanation. Just our "NEW" policy they stated. In other words, punish the seller but any uncouth buyer gets off scott free. They also stated that they want the seller to ship the item first and also that the buyer has to be completely satisfied in all aspects of the transaction before the seller can get their payment. That's great business sense huh ?
Just like going to the grocery store and picking up your groceries then taking them home and trying them out then you go back to the store and pay for them. Only If you liked them. Oh well !
I promptly closed my paypal account for good.
ebay to follow. Not worth the losses/aggravation anymore.
Happy holidays to all.

I know interest rates are down but I think they are going to make a lot of money doing business this way.

The wife got an email a couple months ago about funds being held if tracking isn't used. Is this the same thing or another new one?

Sold a lithograph on ebay with PayPal payment. That's how I discovered the 21 day terms. Of course it was my first sale and it was going from Philadelphia to Australia. Had to cover shipping well before I received the money in hand.

It's not for everyone.

Different things can trigger it like new sellers, long layoffs in selling, big spikes in selling high dollar items, getting lots of gift payments, etc. I'm sure the ignorant listing you have running now doesn't help either. Bashing someone in their own house never has a happy ending.

I was just making a statement on here to see
if others have experienced this.
The ignorant remark is uncalled for by the way.
I'm all done with both paypal and ebay.
That's my choice. You want to throw your money away
with them than that is your choice. I don't judge.
