A few halves recently acquired.
1837 @ $85 x-LCS; the Barbers were from a cross-hobby trade at silver spot. The 1892 is prettier in hand than in the pics, and it's the only one of the group with some reeding still showing.
Why is it easier to find 50-cent pieces a hundred years older, than a Barber in 'fine' or better? Since I don't play the lottery, I guess my album of these is destined to be pretty much a slug display.

SilverYears, that '37 Bust Halve has great detailing and with the price, that's a great deal in my book! On the Barber's, it does seem virtually impossible to obtain XF coins which is why I've put more money into the Bust halves. Still great coins.

Not in the greatest shape but I think circulated coins carry a better history. Who knows...was this piece in the pocket of a soldier while he fought in one of the great battles? We will never know but we can imagine.
