I got a GSA 1884CC Morgan in the box today for $200. I just wanted one. I know it is one of the less valuable GSA Morgans, but the other ones I could have bought would have cost almost a grand. This coin has been slabbed probably since at least Nixon's time. Before that it sat in a vault for 80 years. It is pretty amazing considering the condition the coin is in with some bag marks and a high luster surface like I have never had on a Morgan before. A person could spend years collecting Morgans and then you can always spend years more upgrading what you have. The coin for all seasons.

1885 CC These next two coins are still in their plastic tombs.....don't scan so pretty good, so I'm using the seller's pics. Probably wait until I feel I have enough in this set to justify buying an album before I crack 'em out    |

I saw a 1917 LSQ in MS65 that looked just like the coin you have. It looked so good I thought it was fake except in was graded and slabbed. Red Book does not even list LSQ's in any condition above MS63. These coins are oddities. I have read that the 1916's were bought up instantly because all collectors knew they would be highly collectable because of the very low mintage. Your 1917 must have been bought and then put in some kind of holder immediately to still have the luster and detail. That is over a hundred years ago and I wonder where exactly the coin has been all these years? Has the LSQ been graded? I don't know what an MS66 would look like but that is pretty close I imagine. |

This was sort of a gift from my younger brother, but we agreed to spend only $25 on gifts for each other, so I paid the other $20. I got it for the 7070, but I think it may be too nice to crack.
