You know, a $7.50 kit of Novus Plastic Polish will take that smudge off the reverse really well.

Went to my local coin shop this morning primarily to shoot the breeze with the owner. He's a super nice guy and is always willing to sit down and talk a while. I explained I was looking for some Barber coins to fill some holes in my collection. Below is what I picked up. Mind you these are nothing special but I got them very inexpensively so I brought them home....

Had a morning full of fun getting to look through many coins and get caught up with my LCS owner. Can't beat it if you ask me.

My LCS's owner is also a nice guy who likes to talk about coins and we sometimes shoot the bull about this and that besides coins. When you get to know someone and you do business with them over time I think you get not only good deals but knowledge.

Recent acquisitions, will post pictures soon. I've got 3 bids in on some of the Palmer Half Cents so waiting patiently on those to clear if I don't get outbid.

That '04-O V28-A is a cool VAM. Looking forward to seeing a 64DMPL example.

Dave, these are seller pictures: note the diagnostic 10 degree reverse die rotation. The clash marks on the neck and reverse are visible. I paid a slight premium above wholesale on this coin, even though it's NAOH, simply because the cheek is remarkably clean for a 64 and the strike is actually fairly decent for a New Orleans coin.

SSDC Registry has one PCGS 64DMPL in the census for this date & VAM, it might even be this coin since I bought it from a seller who is fairly knowledgeable about VAMs.

My other 1904-O is a VAM 23A rusted "BU" in a PCGS 63 rattler holder.

Thanks! I'll take proper pics when I have it, or send it out to Todd.
