I wish I had a 1919-D or 1919-S in that condition. I have them both but only in VF condition. I have a 1923-s in EF condition. That was the most I ever paid for a coin and it sits in the slab. I only have the 1916 left but that is a big "Only". I want one with a very clear date. I don't care about FH or any of that since I am not spending $15,000 or more to get it. However, buying one of the existing MS 1916 LSQ is probably a pretty good investment if I were a coin investor which I am not. What do you think a 1916 in the same condition as your 1919 would cost?

Won one of the three coins I was after. Outbid on the other two, one by a ridiculous amount for the coin (it will set a new record for what it sold for) -- but I was able to win this coin! Go for a 1903-S or 1904-S in that condition and you have to mortgage the house. Many of these coins you can get in AU and the difference in price is astounding. Except for some of the Carson City Morgans I have most all the dates from 1878 to 1890. The other Dansco book is a little harder from 1891 to 1921.

Went to the LCS and picked up a few more for My US type set. 1853 with arrows and rays.(hole filler till I can upgrade it)   1862 IHC too show color   1909 VDB   ...and last but not least.. 1917 SLQ T1   |

This lot of Barbers (not shown: 1892-O, 1898-O, 1901-O) showed up today. Also not shown are the 4 1908's (PDSO) that went into my Dansco.  1882-O VAM 22 Morgan dollar. End-roll toning. PCGS 63.    $13 1846 Large Cent that looks to be VF+. Went to the St. Charles Coin Show last weekend and brought these back home with me. I have 6 Peace dollars left to complete my set of them.    |

Spectacular coins! Is there some sort of toning on the 1921's hair? I have never seen the Panama Pacific commemorative coin before. That one is a beauty. What percent silver is it? Our early commemoratives are really great coins and perhaps overlooked a bit. Late 19th and early 20th century coins are the often works of great beauty.
