I got 1899-S, 1902 and 1904 Morgans in AU condition. Now for the really tough ones. I have about 18 coins left to get and all are expensive in decent condition. This will take time. I lack some of the Carson City Morgans and most from 1893-1896 and 1901-S, 02-S, 03-S etc. These coins are probably worth more than all the other 80 some odd coins I have.

Nice pieces, Ralph.

Terry...unfortunately, that's the way it goes, but most of the fun is in the hunt.

Here's an '85 toned semi-PL Morgan with a light cameo.

Nice! This is why gold has driven men mad over the centuries. It is a magical metal. I am thinking that Spanish Empire of 16th-17th centuries was built on S. American and Mexican silver. What is ratio of gold to silver in existence? I don't think all the gold in the world would fill a basket ball stadium from top to bottom.

I was curious just how much gold has been mined, so I took a look for the answer. Apparently there has only been about three and a half Olympic Swimming Pools (50m x 25m x 2m) worth of gold mined in human history, although obviously there are some varying opinions on this number. That said, I didn't realize that, relatively speaking, there is so little gold!
