The B & M I buy from changed owners and they offer lay a way for one year Jan to Dec. So I took them up on it. The coin is very eye appealing in hand. Hopping to bring it home soon.

I picked up my rarest Seated quarter to date, 250 estimated survivors out of a 16,000 mintage. Formerly in a PCGS F2 slab, liberated for my album.   |

1889 Liberty Head $20 Gold Beautiful, carwash! Here's my latest addition. This one has a little history. Anyone who knows anything about Standing Liberty quarters knows all about J.H. Cline. Though he passed a few years ago, his wife/widow purchased this coin and later sold it as part of the "Top Hat Collection" that was auctioned off by David Lawrence Rare Coins in the spring of 2017. The pictures don't really do it justice. It has a light rose/pink champagne tone to it on both sides and the strike and luster are amazing.     Edited by 40Proof

I'll post this here since I'm not sure where else to put it for now! I love to collect unusual and scarce numismatic items that are related to automobiles, trucks, or the vehicle industry in general. This is the first of these I've come across: a 1964 Kennedy half dollar set in red felt, encased in a real wood box with acrylic window. The back is an advertisement for Rockwell-Standard, who supplied many manufacturers + the aftermarket with axles and springs and related components. Rockwell spun off its automotive business in 1997, creating Meritor, who are now a leading OEM supplier of heavy-duty brake and axle components and systems, as used in school buses, tractor-trailers, motorhomes, etc. Rockwell built their first axles in 1909, so the text on the back dates this to (approximately) 1964-1965. It's a bit hard to shoot because of the reflection, but the coin is Uncirculated and has some dark edge toning in places.
