Is this a Philly 1898 or a New Orleans 1898. Both are about equally common. That is a nice Morgan, by the way.

@ CollegeB...So glad to see you filled those missing holes and I agree with you about the edge lettering, trying to match up the edge lettering positions to past collection is a real pain.

This coin was bought from a world coin bin several years ago for barely above face value. Unfortunately (as far as I can tell) the date is illegible.

From the rays on the reverse, you know it is either an 1866 or 1867.

Based on known mintage figures, you have about an 88% chance of it being an 1866 example.
