Encased 1887-O Morgan dollar advertising DX Super Boron gasoline.
Inordinately fascinated by bits of metal with strange markings and figures

Nice encased Morgan. With the wear on the coin that must have been a pocket piece.

Finally added this key date 1914-D Lincoln Cent to my set! With that, I just have the 1931-S and the 1909-S VDB to go, although I doubt I'll ever be able to afford the latter.

Quote: Finally added this key date 1914-D Lincoln Cent to my set! Congratulations! I still remember the day I bought mine. Good times. Quote: With that, I just have the 1931-S and the 1909-S VDB to go, although I doubt I'll ever be able to afford the latter. I just lack the 1909-S VDB and the 1922-D Plain (as Dansco calls it). I am determined to acquire both this year.

Thank you, everyone! Quote: I just lack the 1909-S VDB and the 1922-D Plain (as Dansco calls it). I am determined to acquire both this year. I wish you the best of luck this year! I skipped the 1922-D Plain because I don't consider it part of the set, but I also don't have my Lincoln cents in a Dansco so my opinion might very well have changed if I had that hole to fill.

Indeed. I have a worn, copper (no zinc) blank I found several years ago. I am still tempted to use it for that hole. Prove to me it is not the 1922-D Plain!
