I know the coin is NOT a proof and does not have ANY silver in it from the noise it makes by tapping it with other coins. I however think it doesn't have a copper layer on the outside and that the core is copper because I see parts showing out. The error would be that the only copper part of the coin would be the center. Is that much of an error though?

P.S. This is my first post! I just came here in search of fellow coin collectors and finatics. :) (I just started myself!)

Thanks!

to our CC family!

The image that you are uploading must be a .jpg, .jpeg, or .gif file and cannot be larger than 100k. I hope this helps.

The "free image optimizer" link will help if the pic is too large.I don,t know if it will help with wrong format.

1. It would have to have an S mintmark to be proof.
2. NO 1972 half dollars were struck in silver.

Hope this helps. Beyond what I just listed, I would have to see an image of the coin to help. Weighing it would help a lot too.
