Is this sestertius authentic to you? Should I buy it? How much would you pay it? Thanks guys

I don't think it is a sestertius but a worn dupondius having only a trace of the radiate crown rays. I don't see anything that shouts fake but the photo is not good enough to make me want to say anything positive either.

The coin looks genuine with a nice patina. The coin is as clean as you are going to get it without removing the patina. At about $125.00 US the price isn't too bad.

Well, I've become known as the "frugal" (cheap) guy on this forum, so I would tell you the price is too high. I plan to look around for a Nero base metal coin and report back

Regards

I wouldn't pay more than $80-$85 for it, but I don't know how much these are going for though.

Looking on ebay alone I may be wrong on the value of your coin. It would seem Nero coins are at a premium. I did find a couple under the price you have quoted:

Also, take a look on vcoins at the Nero coins. I saw some very nice coins under $100.

I am going to have to eat crow. In looking for a like coin, I found several ranging from $216 to $2200 plus. So perhaps yours is a good buy after all. Take a look at this link:

- the reverse is not very attractive, the patina also looks very thick, is it original? Without the coin in hand it would be very difficult to tell. Price-wise I cant help, dont know enough about these coins, sorry.

While looking through ebay last night, I came across this listing for a fair Nero with a low starting price. I do not know the seller so I can't give you any assurances about them. But, hey, if the coin looks good and the price is right, and you are in the market for a Nero, you might want to take a look. Good luck.
