Weird question but does anyone know the weight in grams of the latest generation EdgeView holder NGC slab?

Empty of course, with the opening about the size of a Morgan dollar. (approx 39mm)

I usually shy away from slabbed coins becaused I can't submit them to my usual battery of tests to personally prove that they are genuine (peace of mind) but I came across a good deal and I wanted to compute the approximate weight of the coin at the very least for my records.

I bought the coin for less than it would have cost raw so cracking out is definitely not an option this time as it's slabbed/graded status is an automatic bonus.

If anyone knows the weight I would greatly appreciate it!

Thank you!

If it is in a MS grade, you should be able to weigh the slab containing the coin and then subtract the weight of the coin to get your answer

I'm guessing the Weight Tolerance of the slab won't be accurate enough for you to reliably tare it.

I believe he wants to make sure coin is genuine, despite being in a slab, by checking its weight.

I believe you are correct.

The only options are to trust NGC's authentication process or to break it free.

Thanks for the replies guys,

Yeah, I was hoping for a ballpark figure at least but I shouldn't be too paranoid about this one everything checks out ok and the NGC holder is legit and there's nothing suspicious so I'm just going to go with it and not worry.

On the plus side the new holders do look real nice, gives a extra valuable "feeling" to the coin and I like the look of the label, real different from all the scribbling on my 2x2's ha ha.
