I bought this coin at a coin show for what I thought was a steal... Do you think it's worth getting slabbed? Tell me what you think and I'll tell you what I paid...

*NOTE* I take these pics with my camera phone but I didn't know what lighting would be best

Not experienced in grading the series, but I'd call it AU55

This looks to be a AU-53/55. I think this coin would be worth getting slabbed just to make sure that the coin is real. From what I can tell, it seems to be genuine.

I agree it's AU.
If you prefer slabbed coins, doubt authenticity, or want to flip it, then get it slabbed.
I'm sort of anti-slab, so I wouldn't, but I'm weird that way.

I paid $225 he had it graded at 58... I tend to agree with him. I'll probably get it sent off to PCGS this week.

I am not sure if it is just the lighting and/or usage of a camera phone but it looks kind of glossy like it has received a light polishing at some point. It does have AU details so hopefully it really is unmolested.

AU=55 sounds like a fair grade. Nice purchase.

The whole eastern quadrant of the obverse, particularly the wear on the rim, worries me below AU.

I'll be curious (and happy) to be proven wrong.

That is great it is AU-55. I think it is accurate.

What does PCGS list as the value?

That is great to hear that it is in a problem free slab.
