MS-65 Eeeek!

A gorgeous coin. But is that porosity I'm seeing on the face of the coin? Indicating harsh (acid) cleaning?

I'm prob crazy...

I'm not surprised we have 2 AU-58s and two high MS predictions. It's a beautiful coin and a great strike. I cannot tell if there is wear or not from the pics. I'm gonna side with no and say MS-64. There is definitely not harsh acid cleaning, btw.

Looks nicer than my PCGS-graded MS-63 example, with fewer contact marks and stronger head detail on the bison. I'd say MS-64.

Note how sharp LIBERTY is and compare to earlier dates. I believe they re-worked the master die for 1916 which made the lettering much stronger. For that reason this and later dates might make superior examples for type. This one is a beauty!
Rest in Peace

I'd be an easy one to dupe with Buffalo nickels. I have heard that the early ones are harder to grade because of strike quality, but for me, it's the lack of sharp devices that make it a difficult series to grade. The reverse is much easier than the obverse. I'd have said AU-58 to try an be safe were I buying.

I am going on the conservative side with ms-62. looks like it has a bit of wear on the top of the hair. I also think if it had more luster it would push the grade up a little.

Nice strike on this one. There is a touch of ware on the Bison's hip (been touched) so I would tag it AU-58.
