I purchased this about a week ago. I tentatively identified as Ryder 3-E.
I not really sure about it thou. Looks like the top leaf does not point to the 'M'.
And the Star on the obverse does not point to the throat. But this was the closest I could find. Since I am not an expert on any colonials, any suggestions would be appreciated. I also think it grades out as EF.

Several factors go into the grading of Colonials, with strike vs. actual wear being the biggie.
I would grade your coin XF40. As for the Ryder type, let me get back to you ;)

I've been looking over the varieties and my coins and I think you have the correct identification of 3-E. I have one thats just like it and I put 3-E for mine.

This one is beginning to make me think I got a bad deal. I found another 3-E on the web. And the star definitely points to the throat.
I can't even call it an expensive paperweight!

Sorry about not getting back to you. Yes, Ryder 3-E.
