Picked this up at a coin show "bargain bin" for a couple bucks. Opinion on grade appreciated! Thanks.

The wear evidence seemed to put it in EF; however, the color is soooo off, it may seemed to be cleaned?

I Have a coin really similar to this one - 1920D. It is about VF to EF, I should say. However, the color is extremely brown and needs to be cleaned.

yeah, it's been cleaned. I doubt a TPG would have graded it with all of the deep scrapes. did you find this in the wild?

I think the color looks off because he used his scanner to take a pic. my scanner makes mine look like this

I think there was a reason is was in the bargin bin for a couple of bucks. And I don't think you got ripped off by any stretch. On the surface this coin looks to be VF and in spots has EF details. But the scrathes and obvious cleaning make this a non starter for me.
I'd go the same route as PCGS and make this a no grade. If I went with ANACS grading I'd go VF35 Harshly Cleaned.

VF Details Heavily cleaned, I've done some experiments with coin cleaning (not to resell just curious and as a way to know what I'm seeing when buying), this looks just like a pencil eraser rubbed over the LWC.
