A few weeks ago I purchased two fouree Denarius from a seller in Eastern Europe. The images the seller posted were not very good and is probably the reason I was able to pick up both coins for a total of $13. The first is a fouree of Severus Alexander RIC 252:

OBV: IMP ALEXANDER PIVS AVG, laureate head right
REV: PROVIDENTIA AVG, Providentia standing left with corn ears, anchor and modius at foot
2,4 g; 18,3 mm

Fouree-Acquisitions

The second is a fouree of Julia Domna struck under Caracalla, RIC 373A:

OBV: IVLIA PIA FELIX AVG, draped bust right
REV: DIANA LVCIFERA, Diana standing left, holding long torch with both hands
3,1 g; 18,3 mm

I think they're nice for 13$. do you think it's possible to do something to clean them abit more?or do you think it's better leave these coins in this way?

No, I thought about trying to clean them more, but I'm afraid the remaining silver will come off. So they are going to remain in the condition you see. I'm glad I did not give more than $6.25 and $6.75. I'm disappointed in the Severus Alexander, but I'm pleased with the Julia Domna. This reverse is one I've been wanting for my collection, and the condition is secondary. As for the Severus Alexander, the bust is very disappointing. The image makes it look better then what it is, but the bust is very weak and low on detail. But what do you expect for 6 bucks, eh?

Nice coins for just $13...far too nice to photograph on a sidewalk.
What clues helped you decide these are Fourees?

The base metal is poking out all over both sides of both coins. That is why I can't clean them any more than what they are.

As for photographing on a sidewalk, that's where the sun happened to be at the time of the photo. Besides, it is on my Lanai next to the pool and spa. A nice setting for photography don't you agree?

Ah...I thought it was the seller's pics--you know what you're doing of course.
Concrete is fitting...it's a Roman invention, after all.
I see what you mean about the base metal--thanks! Every little bit helps this noob.
