I have no idea of the providence of this coin. Actual or Fake. I found it in my father's collection in a plastic sleeve marked England Groat 1464 Edward IV.

Around 25 mm, I will have to weigh it to get the number grams. Sounds like silver, very thin planc. Weight would help, no pour button. I thought I would exhibit it and tap into some external knowledge (hopefully). Comments welcome. Thank you for looking. I will edit once I get actual weight. unless it is a obvious fake... I would not know.

No obvious alarm bells ringing, although it does look very "clean cut"; by which I mean that it seems a little too tidy for a circulated coin of that age.
Just my half groats worth.

It appears to be genuine to me, too.

The mintmarks on this coin are both "rose", dating it to 1464-1465. In 1464, there was an official weight change, from 3.9 grams to 3.1 grams. Coins with this particular pattern of privy marks were struck to both weight standards.

It supposely hammered. I will weigh Tuesday late. thank you all. It appears weight is the important issue here, mint marks, ability to read Latin would help, too.

What does the edge of the coin look like? That's one of the first things I look at. Also the flow of the metal through the coin. Remember, it should look like a coin that has been hammer stuck. If it looks machine struck at all it's a fake. Or as they say, a contemporary replica. It's hard to really tell unless the coin is in your hand... so to speak.
