Picked up my first hammered coin.

Edward I (1272-1307) silver hammered penny, Canterbury mint, class 9b2. Obverse: "EDW 'R'ANGL DNS Hyb". Reverse: "CIVI TAS CAN TOR'". Good collectable condition with light pitting.

Spink No: S.1419 (variety of). Diameter 18mm. F+

Nice coin. I love buying hammered coins. I just have a little trouble with the identification... sometimes.

The Lombardic script doesn't help with the identification, bur that is the script they used with the punches they had.
