Nice buy. I'm a lousy grader but I'd say about VF-30 area. Sort of one of the Key Dated ones in that series.

I would say VF20 too. I just got a Merc dime graded and it came back VF30. Mine has just a little more detail than yours on the reverse. & I'm guessing that "you should be in jail" because $30 is a steal for a VF20 1926-s Merc. Numismedia has it listed for $78. Nice pick up! =)

Watch out!
That looks to be VF-30 cleaned with a pad, I see many lines.
That's why I also have to agree VF-20 actual grade.

Hmm, you might be right about the cleaning, hard to be sure from those pictures. If it's cleaned then the price is pretty good, but not a huge steal like I suggested at first.

I agree it does look like it is cleaned. Or maybe just how it was photographed. I too would go vf-20

I dont mind, ebay, I emailed the guy before I bought it and he said it wasnt cleaned, I bought 2 coins from hime, this 1926s and a 1921d...the 1921d hasent been cleaned...i can just tell but this one kinda does look like it has been cleaned

I've bought a couple 1926-S off ebay and I still don't own one because I've always had to send them back. AFAIK, every better grade '26-S on ebay has been cleaned.

im going to have to start buying graded coins to be on the safe side, do you think I should keep it? its in good shape none the less
