I got my Special Edition of the newly published "Collectible IKE Varieties Facts, Photo's and Theories", 2011, Lulu Press, by The Ike Group, Lead Author Rob Ezerman.(This SE has more in it than the standard book, including the "Mud Room" Chapter, where the authors throw around topics on IKES that are of particular interest, like the very rare 1974-S "Eskimo Boot" Peg Leg IKE, and, the rare 1971-S and possible 1972-S Straight Peg Leg, among other things, where coins I sent to Rob for attribution are photographed, and, a chapter on Kennedy half dollars, and, how the production of them was similar to IKE production, with all the relief issues--fascinating reading) I Decided to splurge, and get one of these while available, as the Special Editions will be limited to 100 copies, and comes with a CD of the book, a special card, signed by all 7 IKE GROUP Members, and, a hand-written inscription first cover page by Rob to me, and, a different cover than the standard Book(Killer Toned Monster 77-D, by Bill Sanders and Andy Oskam)...it holds a special place in my heart, as I "met" Rob Ezerman online in 2007, while studying clashed IKES, and, he mentored me along the way with all the crazy things I was seeing on clashed coins, but, didn't understand what was going on...(I was looking at an "Eye Clash", and didn't know what it was, as it had never been documented before)
If anyone interested in Eisenhower dollars wants to order any of these books, just go to their website, and you'll find the links to order. or, email me, and I'll send you the info...Dec, 31st is the cutoff date for a SE Book.....my goal is to have a Special Edition for all future books published, and make a complete SE set to cherish in my Numismatic Library.
