In my quest for a useful database to document my coin collections, I went so far as to begin designing my own using FileMaker Pro.....and got a bit frustrated (I'm definitely *not* a database geek!). So I went looking, and found this through a quick Google search :

http://solutions.filemaker.com/data...ial=2550103#

Mac users, REJOICE ! "Bento" is an off-shoot of the FileMaker family, so I downloaded a free trial version and the template linked above. And then the magic happened.

The Coin Collector template features a pretty slick interface, and can be tweaked (if you are a bit geeky) to suit your own collecting needs. There are even fields for obverse and reverse photos - just drag and drop !

For us Mac users, this template, designed by a collector, is a blessing. To be able to customize the fields in the template to suit one's taste - priceless !

I'll be customizing my own download to include some unique data not already designed into the template, and will report back at a later date with my findings and results.

After the trail version runs out, I'll gladly pay the $49.00 license fee if I can get it "behave" the way I want it to.....money well spent.

Yes, there are different versions for different OS. I mainly posted this in case someone else was searching for a good db to work with.
