So I know that lemon Juice is a good cleaner of silver coins, but what might it and other mildly acidic substances do the bronze coins? Would it have any effect? would it be harmful? Do you know of any other liquids that can be bought at the pharmacy or drug store that would help to chisel away at some cemented-on deposits on bronze ancients?

Lemon juice, vinegar or anything else highly acidic will completely strip the patina off a bronze coin.

Try it on a copper US cent and see the effect.

Lemon juice often works well on silver as does EDTA but both are a bit hard on bronzes unless great care is taken. Distilled water and patience is safer.
