I have just received this coin and thought it worth sharing. I have wanted one for a long time and am rather pleased with it.

Ptolemaic Kingdom, Ptolemy VI Philometor, 180-145 B.C., Tetradrachm, Svoronos 1489
Obv:-- Diademed head of Ptolemy I right wearing aegis
Rev:- PTOLEMAIOY BASILEOS, eagle standing left, head left, on thunderbolt, wings closed
Minted in Alexandria, B.C. 180-145
Reference:-- Svoronos 1489, SNG Cop 262
14.031g, 27.3m, 0o

Pleased? That's the best word you have? I would be ecstatic to own such a marvelous coin. What beautiful artwork. The detail is excellent. I have never collected these, but after seeing this coin, I just may change my mind. I'm truly jealous. Congratulation on a great pick up.

Wow is right...what a beautiful coin! Well-centered and in exceptional condition too.
The celator was very skilled by how he renders details like hair to appear well-defined but natural.
Perusing a dozen examples on FAC, this is one of the best-engraved examples I saw.

Really a gorgeous coin,I always look even at greek coins but theyy are too expensive for me,and I think it's easier make a collection by roman rulers,tha greek state cyties.
