I wrote to the seller and indicated that it looked like a Tiffin Token and asked why he thought it was so rare. I suggested that he get this one checked by a Canadian specialist. Here is his entire reply:
Hello Thank you for you input, This item has been checked by a Canadian coin dealer that has given me the information on this item, He also has verified the value. Thank you Mike
Am I missing anything here? Or are both the seller and his friend wrong?
Hi swamperbob, I don't collect these tokens,so I pulled out my older Charleton for reference. But his picture is so dark,I couldn't tell what it was.Maybe he hopes someone will just take his word for it. :) sn31.
This is one of two Tiffin Tokens I have won in the past month. So far I have no two that match exactly but they do seem to be very common. If there is a rare one I would like to know. Does anyone own a book that is more complete that the normal Charlton reference?
