That is actually a Spanish (as in Iberian) 25 centimos bronze coin from the 1850s or so. There were a few reforms during the middle of the 19th century before finally getting a stable system during the 1870s. These coins are quite pretty in higher grades, but in lower grades they are pretty common. In fact, I have found VG & fine coins in dealer junk boxes.
