Someone brought this in to me recently with a bunch of junk silver. Today is the 1st chance I got to look at it and can not for the life of me figure out what it is. It is silver weighs 3.2g one side is the same profile of Washington as used on the Washington Indian Peace Medal and there is a P at the base of the profile. I do not know what the other side is...so any info would be helpful.

Not sure if this helps but, this is the only marking I can find anywhere on this.

I'm not sure if I can help much, but I think the P stands for Pacquet, the designer. I think with these medals there are originals and modern restrikes and bronze and silver issues, but that is as far as my knowledge goes. You'll have to wait for an expert.....

Looks to be a quite worn variety of the Baker-246A, 18mm. Paquet's Washington bust (the Baker-245 obverse) paired with William Barber's Lincoln bust. The medalet was struck at the U.S. Mint from 1868 through the 1890s.

Please confirm the diameter. That would increase the probability that the specimen is indeed a variety of the Baker-244A.

I found a similar one that sold on an auction site:

(1862-64) Andrew Jackson-Washington medal. Baker 223A. Julian PR-29. Silver. Proof-63 (NGC). 18.3mm. Toned with rich reddish-gold that changes over to deep blue at the rims that is quite attractive. Sharply struck on the simple central elements of the two presidents whose heads are surrounded by the mirror reflective fields. An impressive example of this medal with fewer than 75 known in silver.

Is the mintage on this similar?

This one measures 18.35mm. You are saying 18mm the one in the link shows 18.3 so I think I am right in there

I dug out my Washington Medals book.

Given its silver composition, I'm thinking it's a Baker-245.The Baker-245 variety was struck in gold, silver, and Bronze. As per rarity, I don't have the specific numbers. I'd rank it at an R-3 or rarer though.
