To me it looks like it has been cleaned. Very cool old dollar though. Lets see what others say.

IMHO .... genuine, scrubbed/whizzed, rim ding, VF/XF detail, net Fine ... retail $110-120. Let's see what some others have to say.

Pretty much my thoughts when I picked it up- paid $110.

I've always wanted one.

I think it is genuine, but cleaned. It is not unattractive and I think it is well worth the price paid.

I concur that this is not an unattractive coin, yet it's not one that I would buy as a type coin. I would rather buy a more eye-appealing type coin that's a solid XF and problem-free. I see such coins at shows in the $160-175 range. To me, the added expense for such a coin is well worth paying. I'm not an elitist by any means. I buy counterstamped coins and others that have been damaged in some way, such as cut-outs, magic coins, etc.; these, for reasons other than beauty. But, when it comes to buying a coin because one admires the design, why not seek an affordable, problem-free example?
