Buy the coin, not the holder (even if it is from some unknown or unreal service)

ACCUgrade was a legit service for a time. They were known for over-grading but were not a "basement operation".

Never heard of them. But I am sure that in time their reputation will be discussed here ...sooner or later. Now I'm going to look for their web site.

Found 'em. They think quite highly of themselves but nobody else does.

I don't know that it matters because the best advice was the first advice you got from cd god.

True for even NGC and PCGS coins they can trade for huge discounts relative to market if the coin has ugly toning or is at the low end of its designated grade (i.e. some MS-64's are pretty baggy and barely creep out of MS-63 status while others are near gem)

I've been known to express my opinion of pariah slobbing services. Last time I did, I got sued.

If that is the case it is probably one of their early slabs. Accugrade is a very OLD company and they invented slabbing in the US. (There was one overseas company that used a slab before Accugrade.) The only company older than ACG that is still around is ANACS. Back in those early days things were much cruder especially computers and printers. Early PCGS and NGC slab labels are also quite crude by today's standards.
