i am posting this because I am not certain if it is actually a RPM, and if it is it will be the first 1980's anything I have found. it seeme to me that the 80's, are a bit uncommon, or at least I dont find them. just seeking some confirmation, or dismissal. thanks.

Admittedly some RPMs are subtle (to me) but this looks like it took a hit.

I believe that the upper serif has some post production damage, which makes it appear to be a RPM.

under the scope it really looks like a split upper serrif, although I am far from certain. there are no matching die markers - when compared to coppercoins site. although for as sketchy as the markers seem to be for the 83's on his site, if this is an RPM at all - it does not match the die state in the photos there. I am inclined to dismiss this one. even though the upper serrif looks like it could have a split.
