I have been collecting coins for over 30 years now. When I think about where I've learned the most / felt the most comfortable when asking questions / had the most fun talking about this obsession of mine / etc... without a doubt I think of CCF. After I click the Post New Topic button I will have had 495 posts on CCF. In honor of my upcoming 500th post which is sure to happen in the next few days I would like to start a contest. It's a simple contest. When I reach my 500th post I'll check this thread and whoever posted most recently in this thread will win. As to what they will win... My absolute favorite set that I've ever put together has to be my Roosevelt dimes. In fact I keep on thinking up new things to add to it. I've also had a load of fun collecting Jefferson nickels. And the thing that started me off on this whole adventure were Lincoln cents. As such the winner of this contest will receive: A. 1964 P dime MS 60ish B. 1938 P Jefferson MS 62ish (found roll hunting) C. 194x BU Red Lincoln (have to check and see what I have laying around) Here's a pic of the dime being given away   Have fun, and thanks to the admins/owners for providing this wonderful resource. |

Congrats on the upcoming milestone! At just around 50 posts myself 500 sure does seem quite a while off. I'm sure the last 450 will fly by. Any by that same token I hope I am still collecting coins in 30 years.

Post as often or as seldom as ya want... all that matters is who has the most recent post when I hit 500.

I agree that CCF is an awesome place to learn and to chat with like-minded people about my favorite subject. I hope to reach 500 posts someday also.

congrats on the milestone My favorite set is the Roosevelt dimes as well. I have a set I put together from circulation and I am working on another. I have 2 danscos for the Roosevelt dimes and love them. The CCF has also taught me about everything I know about coin collecting and am very grateful to all that post here. Congrats to you on your achievement and good luck with your collecting in the future |
