So today I got my 2 silver dollars, 1937 and 1936 AU and they were ship in a plastic bag and the bag ripped, is it ok if I wrap them in saran wrap? or will that scratch them.

Neither Saran (TM) Wrap nor any of its competitors is a good choice for storing your coins. Such wraps don't offer good protection and may actually cause harm -- some cling wraps still contain PVC which can damage coins over the long term. The "clingy-ness" of these wraps is a result of the interaction between the chemicals present in them.

I would advise getting non-PVC flips or cardboard 2x2s with Mylar (R) lining as soon as you can for your coins. For just a couple of dollars more, you can get properly fitting, hard acrlyic plastic Air-Tite brand holders that offer terrific long-term protection and make it easy to hold and view your coins without the risk of damaging them. Check out their website at http://www.airtiteholders.com.

Hope that helps!

I would place them in a zip-lock bag if it is only going to be for a day or so.
