I discovered on 2 of my 4 2011-P Reverse Proof Eagles, in the 25th Ann. sets had a unique look, and posted a few days ago...I asked if other had seen this phenomenon, no replies yet I know of..here are some crude pics from my scope...the frosting "sits" on top of the letters, and edges of virtually any raised portion of the reverse side..nothing like this on obverse...to me, it would seem to be a possible error coin, but, I would have NO idea how to classify it, as I have never seen a proof coin with this "look"..can somebody with a 2006 Reverse proof examine their Eagles, and see if this occured on those, it may help define what is going on here...my hunch is this overlay of frosting is due to the multiple striking used in making these proof coins, and, somewhere along the line, a "shift" occured, causing the frosting dots to shift up, and onto the portions that are supposed to be reflective and mirror-like...

I do think that these frosted errors are neat. Given time, they may become popular with collectors. As for your pictures, I do see what you are talking about.

I don't recall ever seeing coin pix taken with a SEM before.

biggfredd--whats a SEM? My scope is a lame LED Digital Blue QX-5...LED makes for crappy shots...I'm buying a real scope with my profits, so I can shoot they way I have wanted to for years...
