*** Moved by Staff to a more appropriate forum. ***I've been looking at this one for a while. I worked on the pictures to clarify the detailing to try to be more accurate. http://www.ebay.com/itm/11078226976...t_600wt_1045 First, I'm horrible at grading these but love this particular coin and am bidding until it gets outrageous towards the end (our family is from Columbia originally). I'm going by numismedia for the grading and therefore my bidding. Please help me grade this, thank you

Muddler, WOW. Wish I had seen that one, that's substantially under Numismedia's price of a MS64, plus yours was graded.

OK so I won't mention the 1936 s, also PCGS MS 64 sold for a mere $213. After this experience I have gone to specific pricing for any items I have for sale. I had purchased all three and I kept the best one for my type set.

If Heritage results are any indication, these are commonly available in very high grade - Heritage has offered hundreds in MS66 and 38 in MS68 - and the coin pictured is already at MS64 level. Indications are, they're graded tough and although this one appears to have a shot at 65 it's iffy because of the prominent mark centered in the dress.
I'm leery of going much higher.

Added detail - although I just noticed this is a Denver mint coin and the numbers I offered are for all 3 mints combined, the gist stands as the Denver Mint seemed to produce these in very high quality - 28 of the 38 MS68's mentioned above came from Denver.

Superdave, Thank you for the info. I don't know how to look up the information but am grateful as this is a lot to pay for a coin. I had thought it may make 65, if not 64 because of the dress mark. It's still the best example I've seen for the price (at least at this moment). A store near us had one up AU58 and he wouldn't go below $255, so at least this is higher (hopefully) in grade to that at a lower price. Thanks again.

Registration at Heritage (ha.com) is free and it gives you access to the largest database of previous coin sales - sales to discerning collectors, currently numbering almost 1.4 million coins - I've ever seen. This coin is quite commonly available in high grade, and patience is likely to be rewarded.
It's surprising how often Heritage sales results are substantially below "published" price guides. Keep that in mind.

Well....It's mine. Final price is $201.50. Let's hope it grades out what we think. I'll be breaking this to my wife in a while. So if no one see's any posts from me, you all know what happened and can call the authorites, LOL. Thank you to all for the information and help, CCF is truly full of a great deal of knowledge.
