I was wondering if there is any way to tell the difference between Mylar and PVC 2x2s (when there is no label)? Thanks!

I know there's the sniff-test, if it smells plasticky it is pvc...beyond that I don't "think" there is. I could be wrong though and would like to know myself.

Cardboard 2x2s do not contain PVC at all, are you talking about the clear pocket flips? Mylar flips are stiff and can crack if given a hard crease, PVC flips are very soft and flexible. Also, if your coins start turning green and slimy you know you have a PVC flip

biokemist6: No, I'm just talking about the cardboard 2x2s. I thought that maybe the clear plastic could contain some, but I sure hope not.

All cardboard 2x2s are either acetate or mylar (AKA boPET) AFAIK. I think most of the newer ones are Mylar. Both are safe. Mylar is less permeable for gasses, so is theoretically better.
