Won a couple of coin albums with coins in them and they both came in this week. They really look neat. Pics can be found here: http://gxseries.com/coin_albums/This is a couple of examples: The Fiji coin album is actually complete - can't possibly look any better other than upgrading some of the tougher coins. I'm pretty surprised to see that the Dansco album is copyrighted back in 1966 - could mean the album is really pretty old? Makes you wonder why Dansco have trouble creating new albums these days. The Chinese album is missing some of the rarest key date. I guess it's another collection with holes in them. Hopefully I get time to photograph them all... And I realize it's Fiji not Fuji as in Mount Fuji or Fuji speedway... That's all for now.

augsburger, yes they are just the smaller denomination fen and jiao aluminum coins but trust me, some years are rare in any condition. I'm hunting them down quite aggresively and they aren't cheap.

I've been looking for one of those Fiji albums (empty) but they haven't been produced for years. Jeff

I'm collecting circulating coins of China right now.
Can't get a 1993 1 Yuan, 1993 + 1998 + 2004 1 Jiao, and lots of 5 Jiao coins from circulation. I concentrated more on the 1 Yuan, so the Jiao thing might just be a case of carelessness. But I have no coin from 1993, I have 1991 coins though, hmmmm!

Jeff, I believe they were produced back in 1965 as that was the cutoff date in the album. Would easily make it more than 45 years old, which makes current coin albums look total shame! Should send them emails that they are getting out of touch with regards to lost opportunities.
Augsburger - would be interesting to see your collection. By the way, have you come across a counterfeit yuan? I know I have that in my collection somewhere...

I have one yuan coin that looks like it has been machined around the edges, but probably not fake. I have a 5 yuan fake banknote though. Seems the govt is trying to stop this with circulating money at least.
As for fake non-circulating coins, most of the coins I have seen are.

I am wondering if you have any more info about the chinese album. If they are widely available, if there are other versions, etc. . .
Also what is your impression as to the quality of construction and if it looks or feels safe for long term storage. Is the construction similar to the more familiar albums? . .
Dansco is certainly not fulfilling our needs. I'd be interested in buying foreign made albums (even if not in english) if they were of decent quality and reasonable price. . .

wheatiefan - the quality of the album is inferior compared to Dansco. But for the value of the coins as well as the coins are struck in aluminium, I'm not too concerned. I'm selling a similar album with a few coins in it selling for 100 dollars. Good grief.
I just want to know how I can make custom made albums - make them and sell them for 50 dollars each or something. That WILL sell.
