Just my opinion, but the listing reeks!!!!Looks like a come on from a seller pretending ignorance to me...
AFTER ALL, IF YOU HAD WHAT APPEARED TO BE A 1943 COPPER CENT, WOULD YOU SELL IT ON ebay IN A GIANT UNPICTURED LOT OR WOULD YOU TAKE IT TO A DEALER AND CASH IT IN FOR THE BIG BUCKS??

I was just thinking that the coins in that condition, would not show the tampering to make the coins appear to be what they are . Also I do have to say that The 1909-S looks real!~!

The 43 is an obviously plated steelie, and the S-VDB the pictures are way bad to authenticate the coin from.Better than 1200.00 on a wish and a prayer !!

Not a 43 plated coin. Statement was will not stick to a magnet. The steel ones would. Probably a tampered with 48. And to the S-VDB, in really poor conditions like that one if realy, sell for about $300 around here. I always feel so sorry for people that only have the internet to buy coins from.

I can see the steel coming through on the coin in several places. I thought the same as you at first carl,, but the 3 is right for the 43 steel the altered 8 usually sets a bit higher and the top loop is considerably rounder.

Either way its not a 43 copper cent !

winner paid $1,225.00 ... hope they got a good deal

hmm wonder why they say it doesn't stick.

the part that gets me is "if I GROSSLY misrepresented money-back-guarentee.... all sales final"

Groosly is an Un defined term,, and subject to (the sellers Opinion)

and since the coin in question was qualified with (its authenticity is questionable) and apply your own judgement ,,the seller is pretty well protected.

even without the (all sales are final) which just solidifies all other statements.

I wish the buyer lotsa luck.
